It was an absolute pleasure to welcome the extremely personable and highly entertaining Ajay Tegala to host our second 'Morston Mardle' at the village hall on Saturday 18th October 2025, in aid of 'Friends of Morston Church'.

Ajay's presentation covered his activities in the natural world, after growing up in East Anglia, beginning with his commitment to conservation began at fifteen, inspired by a week of work experience with the National Trust.

After earning his degree in Environmental Conservation and Countryside Management from Nottingham Trent University, Ajay received the university’s Outstanding Alumni Award in recognition of his exceptional contributions to society since graduating.

He described his work as a TV presenter and wildlife ranger, sharing his deep passion for the natural world through his broadcasting and conservation work. He proudly took the audience through his television credits, including BBC’s Springwatch and the documentary 'Inside the Bat Cave'.

What Ajay brings to his role is an obvious, natural enthusiasm for nature as well as a thorough knowledge of flora and fauna. Our audience were entirely enriched by Ajay's presentation, asking (and answering questions) on wildlife and care for the countryside.

A completely absorbing evening (which had included drinks and some delicious canapés) was rounded off with yet another successful raffle and plenty of attention for Ajay's adorable Labrador Oakley.

A grand total of £766.00 was raised during the evening for 'Friends of Morston Church' - congratulations everyone and huge thanks once again to Ajay!
