FMC 21st Annual Quiz Night - Saturday February 8th 2025

In these modern times of letting Google or your smartphone do your thinking for you, it was a pleasure to return to the good old-fashioned 'what's-in-your-head' knowledge at the 21st annual Morston Quiz in our village hall on Saturday 8th February 2025.

This year's event was marked by all our thoughts to the quiz founder Joc Wingfield, who was unable to attend the event for the first time since his inception of the idea as a fundraiser for the 'Friends'.

Once again, the event proved to be both well-attended (no spaces on teams as per usual), highly competitive, yet at the same time, played with vitality, humour, warmth and goodwill to all.

Head scratching, nail biting and pencil chewing questions were set by our quizmaster Pete, ably assisted by our scorers Rob and Sue (with much needed thirst quenching drinks provided by our person at the bar, David.

Hot tasty supper with mouth-watering deserts (supplied by many of our quiz players) was laid on by Jill and her team - who worked hard in the kitchen on both service and washing-up duties.

It is this kind of community spirit which keeps the likes of the Morston Quiz and the 'Friends' alive, well and kicking into 2025!

Thanks must go to all our organisers, helpers, scorers, volunteers and participants for yet another memorable evening, with a record-breaking £1,700.00 raised for our cause.
